How long?

Our Proposal Story

...the REALLY short version.

Andre and Cameron went away for an overnight stay in Paris when they were in London for a short trip in February 2018. At the top of the Eiffel Tower, Cameron casually asked Andre "Will you marry me?" which did not go well as he asked while standing casually beside Andre, and without a ring.

In the Parisian sunrise the next morning, Andre showed Cameron what a proposal was really about the when he went down on one knee at the Trocadéro overlooking the Eiffel Tower, presented him with the ring and popped the question.

CAMERON GRABBED THE RING IMMEDIATELY, PUT IT ON

AND SAID "YES!"

Coat of arms Sutherland-Ling Draw Attention

The Crown

The crown is a combination of two crown variations:

King – Crown of Scotland (Heraldry), and the

Prince or Princess (child of a Sovereign) Crown

The new crown as shown has elements of the two various crowns with added colours to the jewels.

The Crown of Scotland represents Cameron who has Scottish heritage, and the prince/princess crown represents the children that will inherit this Coat of Arms.

The Kangaroo

The Kangaroo element is taken from the Coat of Arms of Australia.

It symbolises the Australian side of the family:

The Lion

The Lion element is taken from the Coat of Arms of Singapore.

It symbolises the Singaporean side of the family:

The Unicorn

The unicorn represents two of our core values:

Loyalty and Integrity.

The Lozenges (the diamond checkered pattern) is a very traditional and regal symbol in heraldry to represent one of our core values:

Family Name

We are not marrying into each other's family, so we are not taking either one of our last names. We are creating a new family name for ourselves.

Our new family name will see both last names merging with a hyphen:

Family Motto

We want an achievable family motto to live and grow by.

We keep telling each other to always do our best and be the best that we can be, so we will be able to tell ourselves that we have no regrets.

Our motto is:

Today marks 5 years since our wedding at @chateauyeringhotel and we remember that day like it was yesterday. So much has happened in the last 5 years with lots of memories being made and including us now spending most of our time in Singapore.

Thanks to all of our friends who were there on that special day who celebrated our special day with us.

It feels like a long time ago but is’s only about 1 year 11 months ago when we tied the knot! I didn’t think I was the marrying type as I had been told so many times that I was going to grow old lonely since I ‘chose’ the (gay) lifestyle. When the wedding day arrived, we had a fantastic time! Just look at these silly pics we took at our photo booth! We went through the ceremony and reception without a care in the world. No one could touch us or hurt us.
